Stratford upon Avon
Yes, yes, yes, at last. My graduation (noooope, photos will not be publicised as they are too ridiculous!) gave us the opportunity to visit the place, at last, as proper tourist. Whilst everyone rolled their eyes and sighed "beware of the Japanese" we just took advantage of the fact that at last we were in a proper B&B. What is a proper B&B? Well, one that offers a clean room, where ceilings do not collapse gushing with water while we are having our breakfast, where toilet walls are not orange with dirt and all the areas of the room and toilet have not been used as ashtrays. Eeeek, yes, that was our hotel in Birmingham - will never book a room in a place called Beechwood again.
So, the japanese. Just for the sake of it I tried to book a room in a place owned by Japanese (very cheesy website and a random name - Moonraker - which had nothing to do with Stratford, where everything is Shakespearified...) but no joy. So we found another place near Anne Hathaway's cottage and enjoyed the day walking along the river, laughing at the rather tart souvenirs, and at the weird locations that people chose to take pictures of themselves (such as a roundabout, cars passing by and... just flowers on it... 0_o). Plus, it was lovely to see our friend Adele again. So hey-ho! Another place in the little island that I can tick as "been there, done that... no t-shirt".
