Incursión Musical - Flux

And so it is that one always finds time to dig out some great tunes thanks again, to the marvels of the tube of videos: Flux, by Bloc Party. If you don't like the song and its great headbanging climax, enjoy at least the video... Flux ichiban!

aaaand if you are into more serious things *seriouser and seriouser* check out The Prayer, from the same band... it has been stuck in my head for days now!

Incursión Musical / Musical interlude

Pues parece que esto de tirarme horas ante un libro preparando deberes da su fruto... no en trabajo si no en descubrimientos musicales.

Hours of boredom have given fruit not to the homework I am supposed to be doing but to new musical pleasures. Caribou, the latest discovery of my random musical excursions.

Blast to the past!

Browsing to the puzzling tunes in GoEar, we found this reminiscent tune... For all the geeks out there, and I am sure Kleine Hexhe will be one of those, do please enjoy, the blast to the past of BattleStar Galactica!

It really is amazing what we used to like at the time. A return to the eighties brings back the espadrilles and the bad hairdos, the dodgy dance moves and a weird image of what the future could be... and, yes, I did have a rat-tail...

Arcade Fire

It has been a long time since I have devoted any time to listening to new music. My incapacity to feel excited by the all prevading copycat teen bands in the limelight, has reached heights of contempt only suitable for a grumpy old woman and made me wonder whether I'm too old to rock&roll, but too young to die? (says Jethro Tull).

But hey, not all hope is lost, asI have made it part of my new year's resolutions to actually find some worthy music, even if this means liking the spotless teens on a GreenDay wannabe suit (what the hell do they put in their faces to get rid of the gruesome volcanos of grease?).

Neeeeeeeevertheless... I am not going to punish anyone with a spotty / unspotty band now (not even with my shameful and newly discovered like for that "Gasolina" song - my friends are not going to be proud of this). I am going to punish you with something well worth it; not a group of pimplyteens but a wonderful feast of weirdness and good music. There, get the Arcade Fire's finest courtesy of the never ending tube of videos... and enjoy.
